Six Mary's Place and Green Tourism
We recognise the fact that the actions of each and every one of us have an impact on the environment. At Six Mary’s Place we are committed to providing an excellent level of service whilst minimising the environmental impact of our business activities. We are proud that our efforts have been rewarded with the Green Tourism Business Scheme Silver Award and we hope to achieve the Gold Award soon.
So far we’ve taken many steps to make the guest house more environmentally friendly. Simple things such as using eco cleaning products, buying fair trade produce, using energy saving light bulbs or even building a bug hotel in the back garden! But we’ve also challenged ourselves to reduce waste, energy usage and water consumption and to instil a culture of environmental awareness amongst our staff. We’ve certainly noticed a difference and we hope you will too. We welcome any comments or suggestions you may have on how we can improve further.
If you’d like read our Environmental Policy in full then make yourself a cuppa, relax and download it here.
We’re also part of the Cyclists Welcome scheme, allowing you to cycle here knowing that your bike will be securely stored overnight and that we’ll provide a drying area for any wet clothes or footwear.
